I took a short break from posting anything here. Just a couple weeks. But I have a good reason, I promise. I was preparing for an event. A friend/coworker asked me to make the cupcakes for her reception and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. So I was trying out some new cupcake flavors and my husband was busy making the cupcake tower of my dreams come to fruition.
In my Pinterest perusing I saw a beautiful barn wood cupcake tower a couple had made for their wedding. I immediately fell in love and needed to make something similar. A short while after I fell in love with the tower, Jessica asked me to make the cupcakes for her reception. She showed me the invitation when I asked what theme or colors she was going with. The invite was beautiful with a silver wood grain background. I figured this was a perfect time to see if she would like the barn wood tower as much as I did. She did.
So we got to work gathering wood and figuring out dimensions. I played around with cupcake flavors until I hit on ones that worked and everyone was happy with. I’ll stop myself here before I start droning on about how much fun I had during this entire process and just give you the goods. Lots of pictures!
I’m so happy how everything turned out and I can’t wait to use my tower again!

Amazing!!!! What is the bit on top of the Maple Bourbon??
Thank you! It’s maple bourbon candy. If you’re interested the recipe is from http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/hard-maple-candy. I replaced a bit of the maple flavoring with bourbon. Pretty simple to make and an eye catching decoration!
